The Real Philosopher’s Stone

I decided to can (shelve) The Real Philosopher’s Stone movie. The mob has spoken and the general takeaway is that most of the people into my stuff are mostly just into ACIM. And ACIM people just like stuff focused on ACIM and not general philosophy. Since The Real Philosopher’s Stone was a hodgepodge of stuff edited out of hours of conversing on various subjects, it delved into many subjects of interest to me outside the direct realm of ACIM. Overall, it seems The Real Philosopher’s Stone bit off more than it could chew from the footage gathered to make the movie. Consequently, since the movie didn’t just focus on ACIM stuff and since the content of the movie was even too far-out at times for ACIM audiences, let alone uninitiated general audiences, I decided to can it. I appreciate everyone who bought the movie. Every project I undergo is a learning experience and so every time someone buys one of my creations, that funds the experience to get ever better at producing content. From making the movie, I learned I’m going to stick with cartoons and writing and not speaking. I’m too much of a loose canon when I start to open my mouth lol. When speaking, I often feel like Marty in Back to the Future when he gets carried away playing Johnny B. Goode and the audience turns on him for being too ahead of his time. I always take the position on everything that’s most challenging to the status quo. So, the eccentric, non-linear churning of thoughts in my head leads to too many misfires and tangents when speaking. The non-linear churning of ideas in my head is best suited for art and not speaking. When speaking, my punk rock, eccentric ego is just too good at churning fertile ground for projection from audiences lol. So anyway, I’m going to start focusing on taking things more mainstream, and that means abandoning things unfit for that objective; things like The Real Philosopher’s Stone. I’ve gathered that only a small group of people want the heavy, hardcore, experimental stuff from me. Therefore, there’s no point in putting my neck on the line to provide that stuff for now…especially financially.

Into the Unconscious: New Book Follow Up

UN-Cover-PerfectI just want to mention a few things as a follow up to the new book announcement made the other day.

Some people with iPads have been unable to figure out how to get the Kindle mobi file from Payhip to work. I don’t own an iPad so I can’t test it to figure out why. So for iPads I’d say go with Amazon or with the PDF. Overall, do whatever is most convenient for you. (Update: I was informed that Amazon has a program you can download for Mac and PC that will allow you to “upload” a .mobi file from your computer to your account at Amazon. Then when you fire up your Kindle app on the iPad it will see the uploaded file and automatically pull it into the Kindle app.)

Also, to answer some questions I’ve received about book four of The Undreaming Chronicles; that book will probably be out next year at this time. And in that book it will become clear why the books have concentrated on certain subjects so far. Notice the first law of chaos comes up a lot in the series (that’s a hint).

Into the Unconscious: New Book Now Available

UN-Cover-PerfectInto the Unconscious (The Undreaming Chronicles, Book Three)
Book three of The Undreaming Chronicles series is now available. The title is: Into the Unconscious. This book has a Halloween theme and concentrates on the subject of unconscious guilt. Not the most pleasant subject, but covering it is necessary and the subject is appropriate for a Halloween theme. There will be two more books in The Undreaming Chronicles series to make a total of five.

Preview the book here.

Below are the buying options; they’re a bit different than usual. For instance, I’m not selling a paperback version on Amazon. The regular supply chain of going through Amazon with a color comic book has its disadvantages. And digital sales are dominating over paperback sales these days. So, since The Undreaming Chronicles series is an even more niche market than my other books, this new book is being released as an experiment to see if side stepping Amazon somewhat can deliver equal if not better results. Continue reading below if you want a detailed explanation of this new set of buying options.

The Jewelry I had out in 2011 is back and better. Check it out here.

Explanation of Ebook Options
One of the most annoying things about Amazon is that they charge 15 cents per megabyte for a Kindle download, which is taken out of the royalty paid to the author (making the fee invisible to the buyer). That’s not an issue on normal books, but with comic books it becomes ridiculous. The smallest file size I can get most of my ebooks down to while maintaining quality is around 15-20mb, which translates into a $3 delivery fee pulled out of my Amazon royalty. I often buy physical things on ebay shipped from China that have smaller delivery fees than that! Kindle delivery fees might have made some sense in 2008 but not in 2015. The Amazon royalty is 70% of the Kindle book price minus delivery fees. So, when I charge $9.99 for a Kindle book on Amazon I see less than half the price in royalties. For that reason, I started a shop on a site called Payhip to sell ebooks. Unlike Amazon, they only take a 5% cut and that is it. Plus, they have some cool features. One feature is that there is a button on the purchase page for you to share a link to the book on Facebook or twitter to get a $1 discount. Another feature is that you can become an affiliate selling my ebooks to earn a 40% cut on every sale generated. I’d much rather someone like you take that 40% than Amazon. That’s worth it to me since I suck at self promotion; I know self promotion is necessary but I have near zero interest in it. So, if that affiliate proposal interests you, get more info here, and just sign up here. Then once I approve you, any commissions you earn will be sent to you automatically via Paypal.

But anyway, if you want an ebook, you can do whatever you want. I know buying directly on a Kindle is easy. So for ease, buying on Amazon still has some advantage. But I’d prefer you go to Payhip instead of Amazon. Still use Amazon to write a review, but I’m trying to take some control of ebook sales away from Amazon. At Payhip, I give the choice of a Kindle .mobi file or a high definition PDF. And you can use the link on the Payhip product page to share the book on Facebook or Twitter for a $1 discount.

Explanation of Paperback Options
Since digital sales are dominating over print these days, and since color printing makes printing trickier and more expensive, I’m only offering paperback copies of this new book from here (Createspace, which is a branch of Amazon) to avoid the risks that come with overhead. The economics of The Undreaming Chronicles series work differently than my other two books; that’s why I’m trying this option with this book. The cost is higher ($22.95), but the color and paper quality is better than my other color books. I’m also offering a black and white version if you just want a cheap version ($11.95). My royalty is the same on each version, so which version you choose makes no difference to me. Shipping is around $3.59 in the U.S. and a bit higher internationally (eg. Finland would be $4.88). But that shipping is a bargain compared to the ridiculous invisible Kindle delivery fees.

This is a little Quantum Forgiveness Meditation to go along with my new book The Universe Is Virtual; it requires Adobe Flash, so it might not work on crummy devices. The meditation only takes a few minutes. Anyway, do the meditation and then spread it around on Facebook and stuff. Here is the link:

The Universe Is Virtual

a-virtual-0-My new book is now on Amazon: The Universe Is Virtual.

ISBN: 0982923082
Release Date: February 27, 2015

Preview the first chapter of The Universe Is Virtual.

The full title is: The Universe Is Virtual: Discover the Science of the Future, Where the Emerging Field of Digital Physics Meets Consciousness, Reincarnation, Oneness, and Quantum Forgiveness. Long subtitle, I know. I wanted to get the full description of the book in the title. Whereas The Universe Is a Dream is a summary of ACIM in the language of ACIM, this new book is a summary of what science will need to do to come to the same conclusions as ACIM. In other words, The Universe Is Virtual is essentially science meets ACIM. In the book, I go through and show how thinking of the universe as a virtual reality solves the lingering problems of science and how it also makes sense of our existence as humans. One especially cool thing about this book is that in it I provide a model of how quantum forgiveness actually works. The technical understanding of how forgiveness works in a quantum physics sense really drives home the value of true forgiveness. I had help from physicists in making this book, most notably and directly physicist Thomas Campbell. So, this isn’t just my opinion, it’s based on sound scientific understanding. Overall, I personally love this book because even though I love ACIM, I also love physics/science. Combining the worldview of ACIM with physics/science renders a presentation that speaks my native language. I know a lot of people worship science these days. So, if you know a left brained more materialist type person to whom you’d like to expose ACIM type ideas, this book is a good bet.

So, get the book and as always reviews are needed and appreciated. That’s how people assess if a book on Amazon is worth buying after all. And since my books reach beyond the choir so-to-speak, and since they turn a lot of sacred cows into hamburger meat, they always need support against the occasional nasty, guilt-projecting review. Whether it was wise or foolish is yet to be seen, but over the last few years I’ve let book sales become my primary source of income. It’s a meager (pauper-ish) income thus far, but it nonetheless has allowed me to spend time creating more content. So, when a person writes a good review of one of my books, that person is essentially trying to help feed me. And when a person writes a negative review of one of my books, that person is essentially trying to starve me lol. It’d be nice if I were able to just make content without needing to make money, but that’s not how it is at this point in time. And if I ever have to just get a normal job, then that’ll be the end of new content. I hope it doesn’t come to that though, because even though I have the smarts to make ample money in a normal job, making comic books (or cartoons) on my own terms has been my dream job ever since I was very young.

Anyway, The Universe Is Virtual is available in Paperback and Kindle. Like with The Undreaming Chronicles books, if you buy the paperback version from Amazon, you’ll have access to download the Kindle version for free. I’m going to try to have book three from The Undreaming Chronicles out later this year (preferably before Halloween). Book two of The Undreaming Chronicles gave some sneak peeks of The Universe Is Virtual, which is the whole point of The Undreaming Chronicles books. The Undreaming Chronicles series is essentially my idea incubator. The Undreaming Chronicles series was designed as a fictional series so I could work on ideas and explore my broader interests without being idle and not producing any new stuff.
